Stab French 4 class

Project for end of semester and end of year evaluation :

Make a short film in groups of 4 or 5 students.

Rubrics :

Students will be evaluated according to the following standards :

  1. Because this activity requires students to work in groups, 25% of their grade will reflect their involvement in their group :

- collaboration with peers.

- Sharing of ideas

- Mutual respect about others’ ideas

I will be able to monitor this part in class by walking through the groups.

  1. Students will also have to submit a script in the target language- 40%. The script will reflect good grammar and vocabulary command. Their will be a first draft followed by a final draft. The draft will also indicate, in French, technical suggestions - how to shoot using a close up or not, if the ‘plan’ needs to be flat or at an angle, light and shadow, etc. The draft will also include acting indications.
  2. students will then have to shoot their short film and edit it : 35%

The short film will be in French. Once their script is written, students will have to memorize it. Students should divide up the script and the time they speak equally!

At the end of this project, groups will have to present their short film – in the target language - to their classmates and possibly other French classes. I am thinking 3 Honors or regular 3.
